Software Engineer - Full-Stack

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C/Swift, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, or Go.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Higher degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in engineering, computer science, or technical field.

  • Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems.

  • Experience working with two or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.

  • Ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

As a software engineer, you will work on projects critical to Ory’s needs with opportunities and that shape how the Ory business grows and evolves. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push emerging cloud technology forward.

As a key member of a small and versatile team, you design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions. You will specialize in building responsive and elegant web applications that can be used and scaled to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • Work on a fast-paced, rapidly growing, high-profile project with a significant opportunity for industry-level impact on emerging container-based technologies;

  • Devise innovative ideas for solving Cloud customer problems and translate these ideas into technical designs;

  • Provide technical leadership and solve end-to-end problems, for instance, software design, efficient implementation, and product offering;

  • Hands-on coding experience with the leading industry standards for code health, scalability, and robustness;

  • Mentoring more junior Software Engineers; and

  • Collaborate with technical leaders working on shaping Kubernetes product within Google and the open source community worldwide, contribute to product and project strategy, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering

Additionally, you should be able to:

  • Work on Cloud IaaS, PaaS or SaaS products;

  • Use cloud platforms and/or containerized application deployments;

  • Contribute to Kubernetes or any other open source project;

  • Use and code in Go programming language;

  • Understand Kubernetes from the user’s perspective; and

  • Be able to manage projects and prioritize tasks.
